The Sun Drum is a wood drum that measures about 14
in diameter and about 2
thick. There is a small hole in the side of the drum that accepts a clear plastic tube. You can blow air into the drum through this tube or use an optional foot bellow. In either case, when the air is blown into the drum the calf skin drum head is expanded giving a change in pitch or glissando effect. When you play the drum with the wood side facing outward you will also get a glissando or change in pitch. There is an arched wood aperture on the bottom of the drum that can rotate with your movement to help keep the drum on your leg. Lastly, each side of the drumming surfaces is hand painted with the SUN.
